I will vote to repeal the failing Obamacare, promote free-market healthcare across state lines to help lower premiums and bring down deductibles. We need to make insurance companies compete for your business dollars and stop subsidizing them. When they compete for your business, you have a greater choice to pick from and not one that is forced by the Federal Government. As a dentist, in General Practice, I am one of the few who treats special needs patients, cancer patients, and geriatrics. The direct healthcare provider to patient relationship must be free of government interference to provide the best possible and most affordable care. Today, we see so much red-tape with Medicaid and Medicare rendering these programs useless and unproductive to the healthcare profession, forcing providers to opt out. I would scrutinize programs such as MCNA (Managed Care of North America, Inc.) and DentaQuest and their unreasonable demands that cause undue hardships on the Medical and Dental Providers. These are some, not all of the issues I would like to address.

I am a constitutional conservative and believe that our Constitution is the protector of our liberties.  Our constitution has been compromised and eroded by unequal protection of the law and by areas the government was never suppose to be involved in.  The unchecked growth of government has usurped the 10th amendment.

Ranching and Farming

Ranching and farming tend to take a back seat to National Security in our district. I believe we need to actively promote and pursue new avenues to bring our beef and produce industry into world markets. Go beyond Japan and Korea, promote to other regions of the world. We need to remember the ranchers and farmers that keep our tables full also need us to help them get their commodities abroad. I will work to actively seek, with counsel from both industries, ways to compete in the world markets.

“The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a Free-Market Economy and a minimum of government regulations” (15th Principle of Liberty from the 5000 Year Leap).  Economic endeavors must have the right to fail, as well as succeed.  Tax relief and regulation roll-backs will lead to job creation thereby incentivizing, rather than punishing success.

Texas is rich in natural resources.  We have ranching, farming and the oil industries and many others that constitute a diverse economy.  We need to promote, expand, and open foreign markets to export our beef, vegetables, produce and manufactured products as well as our raw materials.

I believe in the Rule of Law. To have civility, we must have a society that understands and obeys the “Rule of Law”.  Without it, chaos ensues endangering individual liberties and domestic tranquility.  I believe in the control of our borders, strong security, including building a wall, unlike my opponent who is against a physical wall. Those propagating a virtual reality wall do not understand the enormity of the problem.  Grids fail, drones break down rendering them useless.  Granted, the wall will take all shapes and forms, the landscape dictating the kind of wall. Drug cartels and human trafficking operations are way ahead of the game in the technological world.  They have the latest technology.  To think that we can stay ahead of the game, with a virtual reality wall is ludicrous.

We must stop the flow of illegal entry.  The wall is a good way to repel illegal crossings.

We are in this mess because the progressive liberals and RINO “Republicans” ideology of political correctness failed to enforce the immigration laws on the books.  If immigration laws had been enforced for the last 40-50 years we wouldn’t be experiencing the problems we are seeing today – high crimes committed by illegal immigrants, civil disobedience and jihadist attacks on American soil.

I am advocating an increase of Border Patrol Personnel, with better incentives such as increase in their salaries, benefits for hardship stations, making it lucrative to attract them to these least desired locations. We need to make incentives attractive to them so their spouses can be happy.  I was one of the spouses, who lived in a hardship station. There are few places nearby to go shopping, few good schools and medical facilities, etc.  Those men and women in law enforcement in hardship areas understand what I am trying to accomplish. For example in Alaska, to attract Dentists and Physicians because of the remoteness of the landscape, they include one month paid vacation, plus training time up to 2 weeks, and also pay 1/3 of their college loans for every year served in the hardship stations.  I would like to see a program like this implemented for our hardworking men and women in law enforcement.  We must have a decent budget that allows for our agents to be properly equipped for their safety.

We must identify all illegals and deport all criminal aliens; those who commit crimes such as murder, rape, DWI, human trafficking, terrorism, gang related crimes such MS 13.  ILLEGALS caught must be deported immediately.

Those illegals not included in the criminal category must enroll into a Documentation Program for vetting and biometrics testing and a 1 year cutoff date should be set.  All illegals who do not enroll with the program by cutoff date should be automatically deported.  All those not able to pass proper vetting must be deported immediately.  No illegal should receive local, state or federal funds on behalf of themselves or their children. Temporary residents will not be allowed to vote in any elections.

No in-state tuition rates should be reserved for undocumented/ illegal residents.

Property Rights

“Life and liberty are secure only so long as the right to property is secure” (14th Principle of Freedom from the 5000 Year Leap). The number one responsibility of government is to secure our nation, thus our property. I own a ranch and have horses, longhorn steers, chickens and turkeys. I plow and plant Sudan sorghum in the spring and winter rye and/or hay grazer in the fall. An industrious individual must not be denied the fruits of their labor via overreaching government regulations and seizure of private property such as eminent domain. National security and immigration issues all affect property rights when lawlessness prevents hardworking citizens from enjoying their land.

As a certified High School Educator in the subjects of Chemistry, Biology, and Physical Sciences, I have taught in the Government school system.  We need to get back to the basics. I believe the problems we see in society today is the failure of our public schools to teach history and patriotism in our schools.  School choice should liberate parents and students from failing schools.  Vocational/Technical education should be expanded to traditional universities and government schools to augment the workforce.

I understand the oilman and the oilfield workers. When oilfields are shut down due to importation and competition of cheap oil from foreign countries, it hurts all of us, even the unsuspecting consumer. When EPA activists shut them down, everyone gets hurt, from the owner down to the driller, to the hauler, down to the families who depend on that paycheck. We must find and open those foreign markets, to export our beef, corn, cotton and much more to countries like Japan, Korea and others.

National Security

I am advocating strong vetting for incoming immigrants.  We must know who is entering and leaving our country.  We have 800 miles of border.  Our district is so unique and unparalleled to any other, therefore it does not fit the mold propagated by those in Washington.  Only someone from the area who understands the need can come up with a better solution for national security.

Gun Rights

I am a strong advocate for the right to bear and carry arms. I believe our elected officials should live under, not above, the same rules and laws that they pass and apply to us (i.e. The irony of our elected officials having security details to provide protection for them, while opposing and denying individuals their gun rights).  I am a member of the NRA.  I bought four other memberships as gift for our veterans.  I have a CHL to carry.  Gun violence statistics under gun control are very high.  Look at the city of Chicago as an example.

Social Issues

First and foremost, I am a Christian who believes in God: in strong family values, the protection of the unborn; that life begins at the time of conception; marriage is between a man and a woman.  I take issue when unbelievers force their UnGodly agendas on the rest of us.

I believe one is the gender one was born with, not what one feels at the moment.  My opponent is the only “Republican” from the State of Texas to vote in favor of Obama’s transgender bill, forcing employers to allow these transgenders to use the women’s bathrooms. It had never been a problem before.  I grew up using transgender bathrooms; they were called outhouses.

Public Safety

Support and respect for our police force and first responders is the first defense against tyranny.  Having been born and raised along the border, a former wife of a U.S. Customs agent and having relatives currently serving as border patrol, respect for the Rule of Law is inherent in me.  This issue is the culmination of all the others.  Government’s number one responsibility is to protect its citizens; otherwise there is no life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.  Free people must be governed by law and not the whims of mankind.
